Description

This is a photogragh my sister took of me in a meadow by our house. It features a Historically Accurate Civil War Ball Gown. It took all of 4 months for me to make, and some 8-9 months to collect all the fabrics and materials associated with it. The gown is made of an antique ash plum-coloured drapery satin and trimmed with off-white crepe and white lace. The bodice fully lined and boned and laces up the back. The skirt consists of 2 layers; the over-layer is gently scallopped and trimmed. The gown is worn over a fully boned 1860's corset replica and hoop skirt. All in all it was a challenge, but I had fun *smile*.

Lovely gown and photo. Excellent job on the construction and attention to details.
